Cowboys cornerback Jourdan Lewis has suffered a foot injury. Further tests has confirmed that Lewis’ season is likely over after a Lisfranc injury that will require surgery to fix. It is yet unclear if he will remain with the team through his rehab.
PFF’s Ari Meirov reported the news via Twitter on Monday.
Lewis was drafted by the Cowboys in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft, and has remained with the team since. In March of 2021, he signed a three-year extension with the team, but cutting him saves the Dallas $5 million in cap space.
So far this season, Lewis played in six games (starting four of them). He picked off one pass, had one sack and collected 26 combined tackles. Grabbing the interception is what got him hurt, as he injured his Lisfranc on the way to the ground.
