The Washington Commanders will be looking for a new offensive coordinator following their 8-8-1 season. Scott Turner has been fired after three seasons as the Washington Commanders OC, one day after 2023’s “Black Monday” firing blitz.
PFF’s Ari Meirov reported the news via Twitter on Tuesday.
Turner entered the NFL in 2011 as the Carolina Panthers offensive quality control coach. He, then, held multiple positions including wide receivers coach, quarterback coach and even an offensive analyst position in college before returning to the NFL.
He signed an extension ahead of the 2022 season, which will not be honored. Turner and the Commanders ranked 24th in points per game, 20th in yards per game and 28th in yards per play in the 2022-2023 season.
