The Indianapolis Colts have completed a trade with the New York Jets for Sauce Gardner, according to Ian Rapoport. New York will get two first-round picks and wide receiver AD Mitchell in return.
Gardner, 25, is a two-time Pro Bowler and two-time All-Pro. This season, he has 20 tackles and six passes defended. In his career, he has 201 tackles, three interceptions and 46 passes defended.
Indianapolis has started the season well at 7-2 overall and get Gardner to shore up their pass defense. They are giving up two first-round picks to win now, as they are sitting in first place in the AFC South.
The Jets only have one win and are building for the future under new head coach Aaron Glenn. They are rumored to trade other players before the NFL Trade Deadline on Tuesday. The Jets are also getting AD Mitchell as part of the deal. Mitchell is a young receiver who has 464 receiving yards in his first two NFL seasons.
