The Kansas City Chiefs have placed their starting running back on injured reserve. Clyde Edwards-Helaire will now miss a minimum of four games after the IR designation. He has a high-ankle sprain, an injury that the NFL has seen a lot of during this season.
PFF’s Ari Meirov reported the news via Twitter on Wednesday.
Edwards-Helaire was a member of the 2019 CFP National Championship LSU team with other NFL stars like Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase. He was chosen with the very last pick in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, directly after the Chiefs won the Super Bowl.
In 2022, Edwards-Helaire has played in 10 games so far this year, starting just six of them. He has 71 rushing attempts, grabbing 302 yards and three touchdowns on the ground. He’s also added 151 yards and three more touchdowns through the air.
