The Cleveland Browns have agreed to a deal with one of the best tackles on the market in Jack Conklin for three-years and $42 million. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport was the first to report the deal.
For Conklin, $30 million of the deal will be guaranteed.
Conklin started his career with the Tennessee Titans, but the team did not pick up the fifth-year option in his rookie contract. He is a one-time All-Pro and is a solid tackle.
The Browns are choosing to focus on their offensive line because that was their weakest area in 2019. With the signing of Conklin, they may be able to qualify for the playoffs in 2020.
