Christian Gonzalez and the New England Patriots have agreed to terms on a new 4-year, $135M deal with $102M guaranteed, now making Gonzalez the highest-paid cornerback in the league, according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport.
Gonzalez also received a $33 million signing bonus, the highest ever at his position. With his new deal, Gonzalez is now the highest-paid cornerback in NFL history, narrowly beating out the four-year, $132 million extension that Seahawks cornerback Devon Witherspoon received last month.
Gonzalez is entering his fourth year in the league and was named a second-team All-Pro in 2024, as well as earning Pro Bowl honors in 2025. Gonzalez’s deal was locked in less than 48 hours prior to the Patriots‘ season opener against the Seahawks on Wednesday night, a rematch of Super Bowl LX.
