The Chargers have signed a highly sought after cornerback, in veteran Chris Harris, Jr. Harris has been an All-Pro, a four-time Pro Bowler and a Super Bowl champion in his time with Denver.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the news via Twitter on Wednesday.
Harris has been extremely reliable, only missing five games in his nine-year career. Last season he collected one interception, a forced fumble and 56 total tackles. He also added six defended passes during 2019.
More of a coverage corner than a turnover-focused back, his career high in picks is three in a season, which he has done in four different years. His defended passes are the true measure of his talent, as he has had 10 or more in four years.
This is a great, veteran addition to the Chargers, who missed out on Brady. But their defense continues to get even more talented.
