
The Kansas City Chiefs will sign free agent tight end Irv Smith Jr. to a one-year deal according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Smith, 25, has played four NFL seasons for the Vikings and Bengals. He has battled injuries throughout his career, but has posted 109 receptions for 973 yards and 10 touchdowns. Last season in Cincinnati, Smith caught 18 passes for 115 yards and one touchdown.
In Kansas City, Smith will provide depth for the Chiefs. Travis Kelce and Noah Gray are still under contract for next season, while Blake Bell and Jody Fortson are free agents.
