The Kansas City Chiefs have cut linebacker Anthony Hitchens. He was a member of the Chiefs from 2018 until being released in the 2022 offseason. He was a member of both Kansas City teams that made back-to-back Super Bowls, and also a team captain.
The Chiefs tweeted out news of the release via their own account on Tuesday afternoon.

Hitchens has a total of 667 tackles, 55 sacks, four forced fumbles and two interceptions in his career. All four forced fumbles and one interception came during his 59 games with the Chiefs. In two total Super Bowls he had five combined tackles, one quarterback hit and one pass defended. He and Kansas City won Super Bowl LIV against the San Francisco 49ers and lost Super Bowl LV against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
He was a fourth round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft by the Dallas Cowboys. Hitchens is now a free agent as a 29-year-old veteran linebacker. Any team can now claim Hitchens.
