Alan Williams, the defensive coordinator for the Chicago Bears, resigned on Wednesday afternoon according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Rapaport noted on Twitter that a statement from the team is coming soon. The resignation reportedly has nothing to do with his on-field coaching, but rather things that were happening off the field.
Williams released a statement that mentioned his intention to step away from the game to take care of his family and his health. He noted that he plans to return to coaching after addressing his health.
