The Chicago Bears have completed a trade with the Tennessee Titans for defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons, according to Ian Rapoport. Tennessee will receive a 2027 first-round pick, a 2027 fourth-round pick and a 2028 first-round pick. Chicago will net Simmons, but also a fifth-round pick in 2028.
Simmons, 29, has spent his entire eight-year career with the Titans. In his career, he has 72 tackles for loss and 46.5 sacks. This season, he has six tackles for loss and four sacks through seven games played.
The Bears get to improve a vast area of need in the acquisition of Simmons. He will look to improve the interior defensive line, while joining college teammate Montez Sweat, who plays on the edge for the Bears.
Tennessee gets plenty of draft capital to help rebuild their franchise. They currently are 1-6 and now will look forward to the future.
