The Carolina Panthers have reached a three-year, $51 million deal with free-agent safety Tre’Von Moehrig according to Tom Pelissero. Moehrig could make up to $60 million on the deal.
Moehrig, 25, has played all four of his professional seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders. In his career, he has tallied 297 total tackles, 35 passes defended and six interceptions. He had 104 total tackles, 10 passes defended and two interceptions last season.
Carolina’s defense struggled last season and didn’t have a standout safety. Now, Moehrig will help shore up the back end of the defense.
