The Carolina Panthers have decided to fire head coach Ron Rivera according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Carolina is 5-7 this season and are fading recently. They have lost their last four games, which has severely hurt their playoff chances.
Rivera is 76-63-1 in his nine years as head coach with the team. He was the AP Coach of the Year in 2013 and 2015. Most notably, he led the Panthers to the Super Bowl following the 2015 season.
The Panthers have named Perry Fewell as the interim coach and promoted Norv Turner to special assistant to the head coach.
