Carolina Panthers Agree to Deal With Matt Rhule to be Next Head Coach

The Carolina Panthers have agreed to a deal with Baylor head coach Matt Rhule to take over their team according to Pete Thamel.

Rhule has seven years of coaching experience at the college level. He has a 47-43 record combined at Temple and Baylor.

At Temple, his first team went 2-10, but he finished out his four years there with two-straight 10 win seasons. A similar thing happened at Baylor. Rhule won one game in his first season at Baylor and won 11 this past season, getting the Bears an appearance in the Sugar Bowl.

He has been a master of turning around teams, but will have a lot of talent to work with in Carolina. One are he will have to figure out is the quarterback position. Cam Newton has had a few injuries over the last two years, while Kyle Allen and Will Grier struggled down the stretch.
