The Carolina Panthers have hired Duce Staley as assistant head coach and running backs coach according to Ari Meirov.
Staley was formerly on the Detroit Lions staff as the assistant head coach and running backs coach. He decided to leave the Lions and work for the Panthers to be closer to his mother as she battles an illness.
In Carolina, Staley will join Frank Reich’s staff in his first season. The Panthers went 7-10 last season, firing Matt Rhule and passing on interim head coach Steve Wilks in the process of hiring Reich.
