Free agent cornerback Carlton Davis has reached a three-year, $60 million deal with the New England Patriots, according to Tom Pelissero.
Davis, 28, is a seven-year veteran who has played for the Buccaneers and Lions in his career. In his seven years, he has 11 interceptions and 84 passes defended. Last season with the Lions, Davis registered two interceptions and 11 passes defended.
The Patriots have some promise at corner with Christian Gonzalez and Davis will likely start on the other side. With Marcus Jones playing the nickel, the corner play should improve next season.
