Cardinals Trade Marvin Harrison Jr. to Texans

The Arizona Cardinals have traded wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. and a 2027 seventh-round pick to the Houston Texans in exchange for a 2027 second-round pick and a sixth-round pick, sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter and NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

News broke over the weekend that Harrison Jr. was being traded and would be inactive for the Cardinals’ game against the Lions on Sunday, but the official trade details and trade partner were only revealed after the Texans’ first win of the season against the Titans.

Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans finished his postgame press conference by telling reporters that Houston had completed a trade for Harrison. This is a big addition on offense for the Texans, who have struggled to start the year, with their Sunday win improving their record to 1-4 on the season.

There’s also familiarity between Harrison and the Texans’ quarterback, as Harrison and C.J. Stroud played together at Ohio State (2021-22) and were both All-Americans in 2022.

Harrison had lofty NFL expectations after his sensational final season at Ohio State and being the son of Hall of Fame Colts wide receiver Marvin Harrison.

The Texans will be hoping this aggressive move and Harrison’s prior connection with Stroud can bring out the best in him and help the Texans’ offense get back on track.

In four games this season, Harrison has totaled five receptions for 85 yards and a touchdown. It remains to be seen when Harrison will make his debut for the Texans, but they will surely try to get him on the field for their Week 6 game in London against the Jaguars if all goes according to plan.
