The Arizona Cardinals will be without their veteran tight end for at least the next four weeks. Zach Ertz apparently suffered a quadriceps strain during Sunday’s divisional loss to the Seattle Seahawks, landing him on IR.
NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported the news via Twitter on Tuesday.
Ertz landed in Arizona thanks to a midseason trade away from the Philadelphia Eagles back in 2021. Since he was traded, he’s played in 28 games, all starts. He’s grabbed 130 receptions on 193 targets for 1,167 yards and eight touchdowns.
2023 will be the seventh of 11 total NFL seasons where Ertz misses time for one reason or another. During his time in Philly, he was named a Pro Bowler in three-straight seasons (2017-2019), and won the Super Bowl over the Patriots.
