The most shocking trade of the 2022 NFL trade deadline has been between the Falcons and the Jaguars. Calvin Ridley, who is suspended for the entire 2022-2023 season due to gambling on games, has been traded to the Jaguars.
The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the news via Twitter on Tuesday.
The trade between the Falcons and Jags is reportedly complicated, featuring picks that can change likely based on performance and games played. Atlanta’s best outcome in the trade is a 2023 fifth round pick and 2024 second rounder.
In 2021, Ridley played in just five games, catching 31 passes for 281 yards and two touchdowns. His 2020 was much better, with 15 games played, racking up 1,374 yards and nine touchdowns. He will be available to play for the Jaguars in 2023.
