Former Bengals tight end C.J. Uzomah will be playing for a new team in 2022. He has reportedly agreed to a three-year, $24 million contract with the New York Jets, who have been busy since the legal tampering window opened.
The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport tweeted about the signing on Monday afternoon.
Uzomah had been a Cincinnati Bengal since being drafted in 2015. He was a fifth round selection in the 2015 NFL Draft. He played in 79 games with the Bengals, catching 163 passes for 1,591 and 13 touchdowns.
Last season was his best, as he had 493 receiving yards and five touchdowns. Uzomah was injured in the AFC Championship Game against the Kansas City Chiefs, but went on to play in Super Bowl LVI. In the playoffs, he managed 146 yards and a touchdown, which came in the Wild Card Round.
