Butler is a former first-round pick by the Carolina Panthers. The 25-year-old has 10 tackles for loss and eight sacks in his career. He has played in 52 games and started nine games last season for Carolina.
The Bills have added a few defensive linemen this offseason, including Quinton Jefferson, so they should have a deep unit.
