The Cleveland Browns have locked up a big name pass rusher for another year. Jadeveon Clowney has been given a one-year, $11 million deal with $9.25 million in guaranteed money. $1 million of the deal lies in incentives for Clowney.
The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the news via Twitter on Wednesday.
The #Browns gave pass-rusher Jadeveon Clowney a 1-year deal worth $11M — with $9.25M guaranteed. It’s essentially 1-year, $10M base deal with an additional $1M available in incentives.

Clowney was a former number one overall pick by the Houston Texans out of South Carolina back in 2014. He played five seasons in Houston before playing for one year each in Seattle and Tennessee before being signed by the Browns in 2021. He will remain in Cleveland for at least one more season.
His 2021 season was a bit of a return to form, as he played in and started 14 games, grabbing 37 combined tackles, nine sacks and forcing two fumbles. Clowney also batted down two passes at the line. That sack number was the second-highest of his career, falling just a half sack short of his high watermark back in 2017 with the Texans.
