The Cleveland Browns have cut last season’s fourth round draft pick Perrion Winfrey. Allegations have surfaced that Winfrey threatened a woman, chasing her out of the lobby of a Cleveland hotel while holding a gun.
PFF’s Ari Meirov reported the news via Twitter on Wednesday.
Winfrey was taken with the 108th pick in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft out of Oklahoma. During his time in college he was Second Team All-Big 12 twice. During his rookie season, he played in 13 games, racking up 0.5 sacks, 22 tackles and two defended passes.
This is his second run-in with alleged assault in just the past few months, as on April 10 he was arrested on a misdemeanor assault charge in Texas. Pundits are already assuming Cleveland will be in the market for cheap veteran defensive tackles following Winfrey’s release.
