Two prominent Broncos are dealing with potentially severe knee issues. Running back Javonte Williams has reportedly torn his ACL, which will keep him out for the rest of the season, in all likelihood. Linebacker Randy Gregory, who was acquired in the 2022 offseason, will have knee surgery that will knock him out of contention for multiple weeks.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the Williams news on Monday.
As stated above, Gregory was picked up by the Broncos in the offseason. He was initially reported to have signed a new contract with the Cowboys. The contract was never signed due to disagreements that surfaced after he decided to leave for the Broncos. He will miss several weeks as he recovers from the arthroscopic knee surgery.
Williams was quickly becoming an RB1 in the Broncos’ offense as Melvin Gordon would routinely take a back seat to him. His year will end with 204 yards on 47 carries and no touchdowns.
