Bradley Beal will undergo season-ending surgery. The surgery will be on his wrist, and will quell any trade rumors surrounding him ahead of the 2022 NBA trade deadline. He will be eligible to sign a big contract in the offseason.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported the news via Twitter on Wednesday.

Beal was one of the players with the most trade rumors swirling around him ahead of Thursday’s trade deadline. This season-ending surgery will preclude the Wizards from trading him. As Wojnarowski stated in the above tweet, Beal is able to sign a five-year, $245 million deal in the offseason. His player option is $36.4 million.
He has played in 40 games in the 2021-2022 season, putting up 23.2 points per game. He was also dishing out 6.6 assists per game this year, which was on track to be his career high. His 30 percent shooting from three-point range, however, was on track to be a career low.
