The NFL season is approaching. Before the season starts gamblers need to get their bets in for the year. Here are futures bets to place before the 2024 NFL season.
After winning nine games in 2022, the Dolphins improved to 11 wins last season. Tua Tagovailoa has a new contract and his top two targets, Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill back. With Mike McDaniel calling the plays, the offense should be set. The defense needs to stay healthy, specifically edge rusher Bradley Chubb, who missed the end of last year with an injury.
While there are some tough games on the schedule, the Dolphins don’t play the Chiefs, Bengals or Ravens, who are some of the favorites in the AFC. They’ll have some easier games against the Patriots in the division and they were 2-2 against the Jets and Bills last season. With the schedule and the talent on the roster, the Dolphins should win over 9.5 games.
The Patriots won four games last season. This offseason, they lost a legendary head coach in Bill Belichick. New England also will start the season with Jacoby Brissett at quarterback, but will likely turn things over to rookie Drake Maye at some point. Defensive lineman Christian Barmore is dealing with a blood clot issue, while edge rusher Matthew Judon was traded to the Falcons. The Patriots are in full rebuild mode.
New England is in a tough AFC East where the Bills, Dolphins and Jets all have realistic hopes of making the playoffs. Along with their own division, they play a tough NFC West. A tough schedule during a time when there are so many changing parts will make things tough. They should win under four games.
Zay Flowers was a first-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft and immediately helped out the Ravens. He finished the season with 77 catches for 856 yards and five touchdowns. Although the Ravens acquired Derrick Henry to help the rushing attack, Flowers is still there best receiver. With a potential jump in production in year two now that he is familiar with the NFL, Flowers should have more touchdowns than he did in his rookie season.
Singletary wasn’t the starter for the Texans at the beginning of last season, but ended up getting most of the work out of the backfield. He rushed for 898 yards and four touchdowns. It was his lowest touchdown total since 2020. The Giants will be relying on Singletary more heavily than the Texans were, so his touchdown total should increase in 2024.
