The Chicago Bears have acquired edge rusher Joe Tryon-Shoyinka in a trade with the Cleveland Browns, according to Adam Schefter. Cleveland is getting a sixth-round pick, but is also sending a seventh-round pick to Chicago.
Shoyinka, 26, joined the Browns this season. He has played in eight games, registering nine total tackles, but no sacks. In his career, he has 147 total tackles and 15 sacks.
Chicago defensive end Dayo Odeyingbo had a season-ending Achilles injury, which put the Bears in the market for help on the edge. They rank 20th in sacks per game this season and will hope this acquisition will help their playoff push.
Cleveland improves their draft standing as they continue to rebuild. Tryon-Shoyinka didn’t start for the Browns this season.
