Veteran wide receiver Breshad Perriman has been signed by the Chicago Bears. After spending 2021 with the Lions on their training camp roster, he was scooped up by their NFC North division rivals in Chicago on a one-year deal.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the news via Twitter on Wednesday.
In 2020, Perriman played in 12 games with the two-win New York Jets. He racked up 505 on 30 receptions and caught three touchdowns. His 12 starts bested his career high in that category the most by eight, but due to their poor offense it only resulted in his second-best mark for receiving yards.
The Bears will now add him into the fold for either veteran Andy Dalton or rookie Justin Fields to utilize as they try and overtake the Packers for the NFC North crown.
