The Chicago Bears have placed running back Khalil Herbert on IR. This means that Herbert will miss at least four weeks. Their bye week comes in Week 14, meaning he might only miss three games, but could possibly stay on injured reserve for longer.
ESPN’s Field Yates reported the news via Twitter on Tuesday.
A sixth-round draft pick in 2021, Herbert became an immediate surprise while backing up David Montgomery. He played in all 17 games during his rookie year, rushing for 433 yards and two touchdowns.
Herbert has played in 10 games this season, starting just one. He’s rushed 108 times for 642 yards and four touchdowns. He’s already doubled his rushing touchdown total from last season, and has added his first-ever receiving touchdown.
