Free agent quarterback Baker Mayfield has reached a one-year deal worth up to $8.5 million deal according to Tom Pelissero.
Mayfield, 27, is the former no. 1 overall pick by the Cleveland Browns. He played four seasons for the Browns and spent last season with the Panthers and Rams.
In his career, Mayfield has passed for 16,288 yards, 102 touchdowns and 64 interceptions on 61.4 percent completion. Last season, he started 10 games passing for 2,163 yards, 10 touchdowns and eight interceptions on 60 percent completion.
After Tom Brady retired, it put the Buccaneers in the market for a quarterback. Mayfield will now battle for the job with Kyle Trask.
