Austin Corbett signs with Carolina Panthers

Austin Corbett Panthers

The Carolina Panthers are filling a need in their offensive line with Super Bowl champion Austin Corbett. The former Rams offensive guard is reportedly closing in on a deal with Carolina, but the details of the contract are unknown at time of writing.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported the news via Twitter on Monday evening.

Corbett was a second round draft pick out of Nevada, when the Browns took him at 33rd overall in the 2018 NFL Draft. He was traded to the Los Angeles Rams in 2019 in exchange for a fifth-round draft pick. He played in seven of eight games with the Rams during the year in which he was traded.

In 2021, Corbett played in 16 of 17 games as the Rams won the NFC West. He was a lynchpin of the offensive line that protected Matthew Stafford on their way to a win in Super Bowl LVI over the Cincinnati Bengals. Stay tuned to TGH for more NFL free agency news and updates!
