The Atlanta Falcons have traded a seventh-round pick to the New England Patriots for tight end Jonnu Smith according to Ian Rapoport.
Smith, 27, spent time with Atlanta head coach Arthur Smith in Tennessee. In his career, Smith has 169 receptions for 1,841 yards and 17 touchdowns in time with the Patriots and Titans. In 2022, Smith hauled in 27 passes for 245 yards for the Patriots.
The Patriots already have Hunter Henry, but used Smith in two-tight end sets. They opted to bring in an extra pick, which will clear some cap space before free agency.
