After trying to trade cornerback Desmond Trufant, the Atlanta Falcons will release him this week according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

He had seven passes defended and four interceptions in nine games for the team last season In his seven seasons with the team, he has registered 79 passes defended and 13 interceptions. The veteran will be an unrestricted free agent.
The move will save the Falcons cap room, which is something they don’t currently have according to over the cap. Atlanta will now likely be looking for a corner in the draft or free agency
