Arizona Cardinals, DeAndre Hopkins Agree to 2-Year, $54.5 Million Extension

Fantasy football: Players to avoid Week 1.

The Arizona Cardinals and wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins have agreed to a contract extension that will make him the highest-paid non-quarterback in history according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. Hopkins will earn $54.5 million over two years on the deal.

Arizona traded for Hopkins this offseason in a deal that sent running back David Johnson to Houston. Now, he will at least be with the Cardinals with the next few seasons, although the last year of the deal is voidable.

Hopkins, 28, is a seven-year vet, who spent his whole career with the Texans up until this season. He has registered 632 receptions for 8,602 yards and 54 touchdowns in his career.

The Cardinals will have Kyler Murray and Hopkins paired together, as they try to improve in the next few years.
