Antonio Brown, JuJu Smith-Schuster Exchange Harsh Words Through Twitter

Publish Date: April 9, 2019

It has been nearly a month after the trade that sent wide receiver Antonio Brown to the Raiders took place. But even with Brown leaving the Pittsburgh Steelers, it has not stopped him from sharing his thoughts about the organization. The All-Pro previously stated his mind about quarterback Ben Roethlisberger but now has moved on to fellow receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster.

Twitter Activity

The exchange of tweets began Sunday as Brown wrote, “Keep your emotions off the internet.” Brown then pointed out Smith-Schuster’s mistake in Week 16 of the 2018 season.

Brown is recalling the moment Smith-Schuster fumbled in Week 16 against the New Orleans Saints. The Steelers were sitting with a record of 8-5-1 and were in control of their playoff hopes. Smith Schuster’s fumble was recovered by the Saints with 41 seconds to go in the fourth quarter. Ultimately, it led to a loss for Pittsburgh, losing them the lead in the AFC North.

JuJu did not take lightly to Brown’s tweets as he responded with his own as well. He began with writing, “Keep your emotions off the internet” just as Brown did. Smith-Schuster then followed up by tweeting his opinions on the matter.

Crazy how big that ego got to be to take shots at people who show you love! Smh

To finish his twitter rage, Smith-Schuster posted a quote from Mark Twain on Monday. The quote seemed to imply that Antonio Brown was a fool within the situation.

A.B. vs. JuJu

This exchange of words over Twitter was originated through the fact that Smith-Schuster won the Steelers team MVP for the 2018 season. Antonio Brown was not happy about this as he took it to twitter.

For his team MVP season, Smith Schuster made good on 111 receptions for 1,426 yards and seven touchdowns.

Although Smith-Schuster did have an amazing sophomore season, it can be argued that Brown deserved the MVP honors for the team. In the 2018 campaign, Antonio Brown caught 104 passes for 1,297 yards. In addition, the four-time All-Pro had a career-high of 15 receiving touchdowns, which led the league.

With each of these talented receivers on the team, the Steelers had one of the best receiving duo in the NFL.  Now after trading Antonio Brown to the Raiders, the Steelers will be relying on JuJu Smith-Schuster as the number one receiver in Pittsburgh.
