Linebacker Anthony Barr will move teams for the first time in his NFL career ahead of the 2022-2023 season. He has reportedly signed a contract for an unknown amount of money and years with the Dallas Cowboys, who apparently wanted him for the whole offseason.
NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported the news via Twitter on Wednesday.
Barr was drafted with the ninth overall pick of the 2014 NFL Draft. He has played his entire eight-year career with the Minnesota Vikings, getting his fifth-year extension and another contract after he backed out of a deal with the New York Jets.
In 2021, Barr played only 11 games due to a pectoral injury. He recorded 72 combined tackles, 2.5 sacks, five pass defenses and a career high three interceptions. Barr has not played a full season since 2017. In 2020, he played just two games, so the Cowboys taking him on is an injury risk.
