The Carolina Panthers have stolen a veteran quarterback away from their division rival, the New Orleans Saints. Andy Dalton has reportedly signed a two-year, $10 million contract with Carolina. It can be worth up to $17 million with incentives.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the news via Twitter on Tuesday.
Dalton was a second round pick out of Texas Christian University in 2011 by the Cincinnati Bengals. He had a good career in Cincinnati, playing for nine seasons there, making the playoffs in five of them. He has yet to win a playoff game, however.
After his Bengals stint, he spent the past three years with three different teams; the Cowboys in 2020, the Bears in 2021 and the Saints in 2022. This next season will mark his fourth team in four years. Dalton threw for 2,871 yards, 18 touchdowns and nine picks in 14 games last season.
