Eagles offensive tackle Andre Dillard will undergo surgery. The surgery will repair a forearm fracture, and will likely keep him off the field for 4-6 weeks. His ability to recover and play well will make a big difference in his upcoming free agency, as the Eagles have declined his fifth year option.
The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the news via Twitter on Monday.
Dillard has been an Eagle since being drafted with the 22nd overall pick of the 2019 NFL Draft. He played his college ball at Washington State prior to being drafted, where he was selected to the First Team All-Pac 12.
In his two NFL seasons, Dillard has missed just two games, both in 2021. He will now miss around 4-6 weeks, if the initial prognosis turns out to be correct. He has played 677 total offensive snaps, which was 29 percent in 2020, and 35 percent in 2021.
