Chicago Bears defensive tackle Akiem Hicks has been placed on IR with an elbow injury. He is expected to return in eight weeks according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Hicks, 30, made the Pro Bowl last season for the team. This year, he had one sack and one tackle for loss.
He started his career with the Saints, but has risen to stardom with the Bears over the last four seasons. In his career, he has 33.5 sacks and 61 tackles for loss.
The Bears will now lean on Roy Robertson-Harris to fill in the void for the team.
