Nike and the NFL have revealed the second wave of NFL Rivalry jerseys. These jerseys act as dedicated alternates that pay homage to a specific part of the team’s culture. From the city they represent to the history of the franchise, they are littered with details that appeal to fans of the team. Here, we look at some of those details in the AFC South Rivalry Jerseys.
Watch our video breaking down all the details HERE.
The Texans are leaning back into the light blue, white, and red that is emblematic of the city and their original NFL team, the Oilers. Their set is fully white, with bold blue and red accents.
Their jersey is named “Houston/US”, with the “US” embedded into the Houston wordmark on the inside of the collar. This is a nod to the tight-knit community of the city of Houston and its residents.
A tiling pattern is featured all over the jersey, from the helmet to the nameplate. That tile pattern showcases the blue street tiles that can be found around Houston. Also on the front is a white rivalries Texans logo and block numbers inspired by the “Be Someone” bridge.
There are also chrome accents, from the silver of the logo to the blue facemask to the red highlights. These accents are in reference to Houston’s car culture.
The Colts’ new jerseys are steely gray, leaning into the intensity and grit that embody football in Indianapolis. They feature gray up and down the uniform, with the exception of the high-shine, metallic blue helmet.
They call their set “Anvil Strike” as a showcase of both their resilient history and their modern strength. The horseshoe symbol unites the jersey and the Colts community.
This is the first time in Colts history that their iconic horseshoe logo will be featured on the jersey. It appears in silver on the shoulder. “For The Shoe” is stitched inside the collar, and grommets are placed inside the shoulder stripes. All these details bring the horseshoe to the forefront.
The metallic blue helmet is a modern approach to the Colts’ classic blue and has an “INDY” helmet bumper.
The Jaguars went with a classic look, but with bold details. The white jersey with black pants looks classic at first, but the subtle jaguar print, metallic accents, and bright teal helmet bring a modern twist.
They call their set “Bold City”, a nickname for the city of Jacksonville. That moniker can also be found on the collar, along with stitching that reads “since ‘95”, referencing the birth year of the franchise.
Blue and gold accents weave the team’s colors into their southern roots. The number font is inspired by historic music venues around the area. The jaguar print from the pants continues on into the numbers.
Nashville is a city known for music and bright lights. That shines through in the Titans rivalry jerseys. A navy blue jersey and pants set is accented with bright blue.
Fittingly, this set is named “Music City” after Nashville’s musical culture and roots. This musical theme continues down the sides of the pants and across the shoulders, where a six-string guitar pattern lives.
The numbers on the jersey are styled to look like classic neon signs, standing out brightly against the navy blue. The helmet is the opposite, with a bright base; the dark, newly minted Titans logo stands out nicely.
The jersey’s “Music City” moniker is spelled out in script across the chest, representing the rhythm of the city and the team.
