Peterson, 35, is fifth on the all-time rushing list with 14, 216 yards. After starting his career in Minnesota, he played the 2017 season for the Arizona Cardinals and New Orleans Saints. Since that point, he has played in Washington.
Detroit has two young running backs in rookie D’Andre Swift and Kerryon Johnson. Peterson will likely fight for carries with the two, while mentoring them.
