Green Bay Packers starting running back and main offensive weapon, Aaron Jones is now week-to-week. He suffered an injury to his MCL during Sunday’s unexpected win against the Los Angeles Chargers, and is unlikely to play on Thanksgiving.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the news via Twitter on Tuesday.
This MCL sprain is Jones’ third injury of the season, and he’s missed plenty of time to all three of them. In seven games so far this year, he’s rushed just 66 times for 245 yards and two scores. He’s added 19 catches for 169 yards and one more touchdown.
These numbers are a far cry from his league-leading 19 touchdown season in 2019. He is easily the most experienced weapon on the youngest team in the entire NFL. Third string running back Emmanuel Wilson was also injured. This leaves A.J. Dillon as the lead back.
