5 NFL Draft Prospects to Watch in Week 14 Recap

Publish Date: December 2, 2019

Each week 5 NFL Draft Prospects to Watch will be published. After the week is over, each of the players will be evaluated to see how they did. Here is the recap for the five NFL Draft Prospects to watch in week 14.

1. Chase Young, Edge, Ohio State

Ohio State beat their rivals again. The win now leads Ohio State to the Big Ten Championship Game and if they win that, the College Football Playoff. Michigan had a good plan to stop Chase Young, but it still wasn’t enough to win the game. Young finished the game with no tackles and no sacks.

The poor performance will likely not change where Young is projected to be drafted. Michigan double-teamed him and their offensive line was well aware of where he was every play. Young now will prepare to try to lead his team to a National Championship.

2. Nico Collins, WR, Michigan

While Michigan lost to Ohio State again, it was mostly the fault of the defense. The offense put up 27 points, but it wasn’t enough. Even though the offense wasn’t the problem, Collins didn’t have his best game. He finished with two receptions for 32 yards.

Every game matters with so many talented receivers in this draft class. Collins was unable to beat the tough man coverage by the Buckeyes, which will raise some concerns. He will still have a bowl game this season to raise his stock.

3. Najee Harris, RB, Alabama

Alabama lost a tough game to their rival in the last week of the season. They should be preparing for a New Year’s Six Bowl Game now. Najee Harris had a good day for the Crimson Tide despite the loss. He carried the ball 27 times for 146 yards and a touchdown.

Harris was able to eclipse 1,000 rushing yards on the season with his big day. His performance this season means he will likely be one of the first five running backs selected in the 2020 NFL Draft. A good performance in the bowl game could give him the right momentum heading into the draft process.

4. Jeremiah Dinson, S, Auburn

It was not a solid defensive performance for either team in the Iron Bowl, as both teams scored over 40 points. Dinson had a solid game with 10 total tackles, but the performance will be a little to be desired as Alabama had 335 passing yards with a backup quarterback.

Dinson has a chance to be selected in the middle rounds of the 2020 NFL Draft. He is one of the most experienced safeties in the class, which should make him intriguing to teams. Auburn should have one more big game for Dinson to improve his stock.

5. Chuba Hubbard, RB, Oklahoma State

Bedlam resulted in an Oklahoma win. Oklahoma State still had a good season and a lot of that was because of Chuba Hubbard. He rushed for 104 yards and one touchdown against the Sooners. Hubbard also had three receptions for 13 yards.

Hubbard sits at 1,936 rushing yards for the season. He has shown production as a result of his toughness. If he decides to leave college after this season, he will be one of the first running backs selected in the 2020 NFL Draft.
