Chicago Bears cornerback has officially requested a trade away from the team, which was made public ahead of the October 31 trade deadline. If that request is going to be honored, it will need to be discussed and finalized before 4:00pm ET on Halloween.
Here are three potential trade destinations for Jaylon Johnson.
Despite being on a three-game slide, the 49ers defense already ranks as one of the best in the league, but if NFL fans know anything about John Lynch, Kyle Shanahan and their strategies, they know that enough is never enough.
Johnson, a former second-round pick, could play outside corner for the Niners, which is an area of need. They need to shore up the yardage surrendered if they plan on returning to the NFC Championship game, as they have begun to leak during their losing streak.
As was made evident during Week 8’s nail-biter against the Washington Commanders, the front seven and pass rush are the crux of this Eagles defense. When they can’t get home to the quarterback or ball-carrier, their secondary gives up chunk yardage. Even to Sam Howell.
The Eagles just acquired Kevin Byard from the Titans, but that may not be enough. Howie Roseman’s bread and butter has been aggressiveness when it comes to acquiring talent. And it’s clear that this secondary needs another shot of it.
The Bills have lost star cornerback Tre’Davious White for the remainder of the season due to an Achilles injury; an injury type which has been plaguing the league as of late. Their defense and secondary still isn’t bad, but the Bills are in the midst of an all-in type of season.
Giving more pieces to a defensive head coach to scheme and scare opposing offenses with is always on the menu for the Bills. Many may think that they need another offensive weapon at this deadline, and they wouldn’t be wrong, but another strong corner also fills a need this Halloween.
