2020 NFL Mock Draft August 22

The college football season is about to start, but it is never too early to look ahead to the next NFL Draft and what team could be targeting. The draft order will is decided by current Super Bowl odds. Here is the 2020 NFL Mock Draft.

1. Miami Dolphins- Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Alabama

Miami traded for Josh Rosen, but that doesn’t mean they’ll keep him with how good the quarterbacks in the 2020 NFL Draft are regarded. Tagovailoa plays flawlessly for most games, but has struggled in some big games near the end of last season. A lot of that could be because he played the latter part of the season on a surgically repaired ankle. He is still currently the top quarterback in the class, but he needs to prove it on the field in 2019.

2. Arizona Cardinals- Andrew Thomas, OT, Georgia

The Cardinals could go with some defensive help here, but they just took a quarterback and have to make sure he is protected. Thomas has started for two seasons and has plenty of accolades.

3. Cincinnati Bengals- Justin Herbert, QB, Oregon

If the Bengals are selecting this highly again, they need to make a change at quarterback. Herbert was a projected top 10 pick if he came out for the 2019 NFL Draft. If he can improve his accuracy, he’ll be a top 10 pick this season.

4. New York Giants- Chase Young, Edge, Ohio State

Young looked good last season playing next to Dre’Mont Jones and Nick Bosa (for three games). The Giants need to get a great edge rusher.

5. Buffalo Bills- Jerry Jeudy, WR, Alabama

Buffalo signed some decent receivers this offseason, but Josh Allen needs a go-to receiver to help him develop more. Jeudy has shown flashes of being a number one receiver with his ability to get open and cut on a dime.

6. New York Jets- A.J. Epenesa, Edge, Iowa

The Jets could go with offensive line help or an edge rusher to make their defense even better. Epenesa jumped out on tape when watching some of Iowa’s prospects that were eligible for the 2019 NFL Draft. He was a backup last year and now will get a chance to shine.

7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Grant Delpit, S, LSU

In the 2018 NFL Draft, the Buccaneers passed on Derwin James and selected Vita Vea. They are still in need of a safety. Delpit is a versatile player who can make an impact on an NFL defense now.

8. Washington Redskins- Laviska Shenault, WR, Colorado

The Redskins had a good 2019 NFL Draft, but still need to give Dwayne Haskins more targets to work with. Shenault has impressed at Colorado and is extremely athletic.

9. Detroit Lions- Trevon Diggs, CB, Alabama

Matt Patricia has added to the defensive line depth, but they need to address the secondary. Diggs would’ve been a first-round pick last season, but he got injured.

10. Tennessee Titans- Jake Fromm, QB, Georgia

How many years is Marcus Mariota going to get to develop? He hasn’t always had the best weapons, but is often hurt and underperforming. Fromm is a polished passer who has helped Georgia rise to prominence over the last few seasons.

11. Denver Broncos- Dylan Moses, LB, Alabama

Moses is a very athletic linebacker who is in store for a big season with the Crimson Tide. The Broncos could use a playmaker in the middle of their defense.

12. Las Vegas Raiders- Derrick Brown, DT/NT, Auburn

Had he come out after last season, Brown would’ve been a top 10 pick. He has that potential this season if teams have a need for interior linemen. Brown will be a star on one of the best defensive lines in college football.

13. Jacksonville Jaguars- Albert Okwuegbunam, TE, Missouri

Okwuegbunam was another player who could’ve entered the draft last season, but decided to play one more year of college football. He is an athletic tight end who could be a good target for an NFL team. The Jaguars acquired Nick Foles and now need to give him the players around him to help move the ball.

14. San Francisco 49ers- Jacob Phillips, LB, LSU

The 49ers improved their linebackers by getting Kwon Alexander this offseason, but they need more at the position. Phillips will have to step up for LSU now that Devin White is in the pros.

15. Baltimore Ravens- Raekwon Davis, DE/DT, Alabama

Davis was overshadowed by Quinnen Williams last year, but still is a good player for Alabama. Baltimore needs to add to their front seven. Baltimore targets a lot of Alabama players and Davis does fit a need.

16. Atlanta Falcons- Yetur Gross-Matos, Edge, Penn State

Matt Ryan is now protected for the long term after the Falcons focused on the offensive line in the 2019 NFL Draft. Gross-Matos totaled 20 tackles for loss and eight sacks last season and is poised for bigger things this year.

17. Carolina Panthers- Isaiah Simmons, S, Clemson

The Panthers don’t have too many needs, but could add to their secondary. Simmons has been the best player in Clemson’s secondary and needs to take it to the next level this season.

18. Houston Texans- Walker Little, OT, Stanford

Houston used a first-round pick on Tytus Howard, but the line still needs to be improved as a whole to protect Deshaun Watson. Little is athletic and will be well experienced in run blocking by the time the season ends.

19. Seattle Seahawks- Nick Coe, DE/DT, Auburn

Poona Ford played well for the Seahawks, but they could use someone to go next to him in the middle of the line. Coe has some versatility, which Pete Carroll seems to like in his defensive linemen.

20. Minnesota Vikings- Tristan Wirfs, OT, Iowa

The Vikings have addressed the offensive line over the last few years, but still need to find more. Wirfs has some good tape at Iowa, but has played right tackle for the Hawkeyes.

21. Cleveland Browns- Trey Adams, OT, Washington

Cleveland is set with skill position players and they have a solid defense. They do however need to address the offensive line. Adams has had injury issues, but was thought of as a first-round pick at one point in his college career. He’ll have to stay healthy in 2019 to be selected this highly.

22. Pittsburgh Steelers- C.J. Henderson, CB, Florida

With the selection of Devin Bush, the Steelers defense should be improved. They still have to make improvements in their secondary.

23. Dallas Cowboys- Xavier McKinney, S, Alabama

Dallas continues to ignore their need for a safety. McKinney was great last season and now all eyes will be on him.

24. Los Angeles Chargers- D’Andre Swift, RB, Georgia

Melvin Gordon is still holding out. If no long-term deal is reached, the Chargers may be in the market for another running back.

25. Philadelphia Eagles- Paddy Fisher, LB, Northwestern

Fisher has started ever since he was a freshman at Northwestern. Philadelphia desperately needs more linebacker help.

26. Las Vegas Raiders (via CHI)- Jeffrey Okudah, CB, Ohio State

Oakland can focus some of their attention on their secondary in order to improve. Okudah has some of the best athleticism in the class and should rise up draft boards soon after the season starts.

27. Indianapolis Colts- Najee Harris, RB, Alabama

Indianapolis has Marlon Mack, but could still use another running back after focusing on the defense and offensive line in the last few drafts.

28. Green Bay Packers- Marlon Davidson, DE/DT, Auburn

The Packers got their outside linebackers to rush the passer, but still need solid 3-4 defensive ends.

29. New Orleans Saints- CeeDee Lamb, WR, Oklahoma

New Orleans can get a number two receiver to play behind Michael Thomas to make their wide receiver group a lot better.

30. Los Angeles Rams- Cameron Dantzler, CB, Mississippi State

Aqib Talib is getting older and the Rams should get more corners to plan ahead.

31- Kansas City Chiefs- Troy Dye, LB, Oregon

The Chiefs need a leader in the middle of their defense in order to really improve.

32- New England Patriots- Khalid Kareem, Edge, Notre Dame

New England lost Trey Flowers and added Michael Bennett, but could get better pass rushers for the future.
