The 2025 NFL Draft will be a great event for teams to start building for their future. Here is the Wyatt Milum NFL Draft Profile.
Position: Offensive Tackle
School: West Virginia
Size: 6-foot-6, 315 pounds
Class: Senior
2024 stats: First Team All-American
Milum was a four-star prospect who decided to stay in his home state to play for West Virginia. He played in 12 games and started eight of them at right tackle as a true freshman. Milum helped the team win six games that season. In 2022, Milum moved to left tackle for the Mountaineers. The team took a step backward that year despite Milum playing well. For the 2023 season, Milum was an All-Big 12 Second Team selection. West Virginia won nine games that season. Milum was a First Team All-American in 2024 and led the Mountaineers to a six-win season.
Following the season, Milum has been preparing for the NFL Draft. He is currently projected to be a day two pick.
Milum has nice size and strength for the tackle position. He stands at 6-foot-5 and 315 pounds, which is solid for the position. Milum also appears to have solid length as well. With his size and length comes good play strength. He can use his length and strength to neutralize defenders and execute his assignments both in the passing game and running game.
He moves well, especially for his size, showing off his solid athleticism. Milum starts plays off with good quickness. He gets to the second level quickly and is able to block linebackers. Milum also showed the ability to get out on the edge as well. He uses his mobility to stay in front of pass rushers as well.
His potential is great in pass protection and he proved that at West Virginia. Milum has the ability to mirror pass rushers well with his mobility. He also showed to have a solid anchor, as he can stop power rushers well. Milum uses his length well too, which can stave off pass rushers as well.
Milum can get too off-balance when blocking. He can overset, which makes him susceptible to inside moves. Milum can also lean and lunge, which gets him off balance. He needs to trust his technique and stay balanced, which will make him a more consistent blocker at the next level.
While he can execute his assignments and do well, Milum can improve his grip strength to sustain blocks longer. Milum is a solid run and pass blocker, but could get more push on defenders or sustain his blocks to open up even more holes. He could also sustain blocks longer when pass blocking.
He has good athleticism, but Milum doesn’t have the greatest flexibility. Milum can struggle to bend and pass rushers are able to take advantage of that and dip around the edge at times. He will need to focus on his punch timing and placement to help combat his lack of flexibility.
Projected Draft Range: Second Round Pick-Third Round Pick
Draft Grade: Second Round Pick
