The 2023 NFL Draft will be a great event for teams to start building for their future. Here is the Will Levis 2023 NFL Draft Profile.

Levis was a solid quarterback for Kentucky over the last two seasons. He has now entered his name into the 2023 NFL Draft.
Out of high school, Levis was a three-star prospect who signed with Penn State. He was redshirted his first season on campus and then was used as a gadget player mostly over the next two years. Levis had 644 passing yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions during his time in State College. He then transferred to Kentucky and won the starting quarterback job. In 2021, he passed for 2,826 yards, 24 touchdowns and 13 interceptions on 66 percent completion as the Wildcats won 10 games. For the 2022 season, Levis passed for 2,406 yards, 19 touchdowns and 10 interceptions on 65.4 percent completion. The Wildcats made another bowl after registering seven wins, but Levis opted out of that game.
After opting out of the bowl game, Levis declared for the 2023 NFL Draft. He is a projected first-round pick.
Levis has a good build for an NFL quarterback at 6-foot-3 and 232 pounds. He had to take a lot of hits in college and missed some time, but is decently durable. His size helps him to be a tough runner with the football and tough to sack in the pocket.
His arm talent will be something that impresses NFL scouts. He has one of the strongest arms in the draft class. Not only can he throw it deep and stretch the field, but he can get a lot of velocity on his throws. His arm strength helps him make complicated throws, whether that is fitting the ball between defenders or throwing from a hash to the opposite sideline. He can make all throws required of an NFL quarterback.
The stats from 2022 may not show it, but Levis is a good runner with the football. He has decent speed, but is also a physical runner with his size. Levis can be used on read-option plays and pick up a fair share of yardage. On broken passing plays, he can get out of the pocket and make a play with his arm or his legs. The Wildcats dialed back on calling run plays for him in 2022 and the offensive line did him no favors, but he can be used as a runner at the pro level.
Levis needs to work on his decision-making. He gets into trouble when he doesn’t see the whole field, as defenders picked off a lot of his passes in college. At times, Levis shows too much trust in his arm to make throws into tight windows. He can force passes instead of hitting open receivers.
He has a tendency to not go through his progressions. If his first read is open Levis is great, but he needs to go to his secondary and tertiary options more often. Levis can lock on to one receiver rather than reading the whole field. He needs to work on this, as he’ll have to read the whole field in the NFL.
His accuracy is decent, but there are times when he misses on throws he should have hit. He underthrew some deep balls in 2022, which could have gone for touchdowns. On short and intermediate passes, he can hit his targets most of the time, but doesn’t always throw it accurately enough to optimize how many yards receivers can get after the catch. Working on his touch and short accuracy can help sustain drives.
Projected Draft Range: First-Round Pick
Draft Grade: Second-Round Pick
