The 2025 NFL Draft will be a great event for teams to start building for their future. Here is the Will Campbell NFL Draft Profile.
Position: Offensive Tackle
School: LSU
Size: 6-foot-6, 320 pounds
Class: Junior
2024 stats: First Team All-American
Campbell was a four-star recruit from the state of Louisiana who decided to stay in-state to play for the Tigers. He immediately jumped into the starting lineup for LSU at left tackle. Campbell was named a Freshman All-American and helped the Tigers win 10 games. He returned to his left tackle spot in 2023, leading the way for another LSU 10-win season. For his play, he was named First Team All-SEC. Campbell was a First Team All-American in 2024, helping LSU win nine more games.
Following the regular season, Campbell declared for the 2025 NFL Draft. He is currently projected to be a top 10 pick.
Campbell has solid size and strength for the position. He stands at 6-foot-6 and 320 pounds, which are both good for a starting offensive tackle at the NFL level. His strength allows him to anchor well in pass protection, but also move defenders in the run game. He has plenty of power to utilize and neautrilize defenders.
His athleticism is also good for the position. Campbell moves well in a straight-line, which helps him get to the second level on run blocks. He also has good lateral mobility, which helps him hit targets in space as a run blocker and mirror pass rushers well. He is a good athlete with flexibility to match up with explosive edge rusher.
He has specifically been good at pass protection, as he rarely gave up sacks in college. Campbell has the ability to anchor well to stop power rushers. He also has the ability to move and bend well to stop edge rushers who have speed and are trying to attack the edge. His smooth movement skills can help him set a good pocket depth for his quarterback.
There will be concerns about Campbell’s length, which could cause teams to think he is a better fit at guard. His arms aren’t the longest, which will make his hand placement and timing more important to stave off defenders. Campbell held up well at tackle in college, so with more work he can be successful even with a lack of length.
Campbell has trouble maintianing leverage. He needs to keep his pad level low so that he can maintain his power and win more of his matchups. When he stands too tall, defenders can move him and shed his blocks more easily. He has good natural power and staying low will only help him use it the most effectively.
He can clean up his footwork and lessen his oversetting. Campbell can be too worried to giving up the edge, so much that he can be susceptible to inside counter moves. He needs to stay balanced and not overset. If he does that, Campbell will be able to handle more rushers who try inside moves on him.
