Tyleik Williams NFL Draft Profile

Publish Date: April 10, 2025

The 2025 NFL Draft will be a great event for teams to start building for their future. Here is the Tyleik Williams NFL Draft Profile.

Tyleik Williams Background

Position: Defensive Tackle

School: Ohio State

Size: 6-foot-3, 334 pounds

Class: Senior

2024 stats: 46 total tackles, 8 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, 1 pass defended

As a four-star recruit in the class of 2021, Williams signed with Ohio State out of Virginia. He immediately made an impact with 16 tackles, seven tackles for loss and five sacks. He helped the team win 11 games that season. For the 2022 season, Williams piled up 21 total tackles, three tackles for loss and one sack. His play was a part of the reason the Buckeyes won 11 games again in 2022. In 2023, Williams had 53 total tackles, 10 tackles for loss and three sacks. Ohio State won 11 games again in 2023. For the 2024 season, Williams talied 46 total tackles, eight tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks. He led the team all the way to a national championship.

Following the national championship, Williams has been preparing for the 2025 NFL Draft. He is a projected day-two pick.

Tyleik Williams Strengths

Williams has good size for the interior defensive line. He stands at 6-foot-3 and 334 pounds, which allows him to hold up on the interior and play nose tackle. With his size comes great strength as well. He is able to take on double teams and hold his spot against run blocks, allowing others to make plays.

His run defense value is great. As mentioned, he can anchor well and take on double teams, allowing others to make plays. He can also do well himself, as he sheds decently quickly. Williams shows off a good awareness of where the ball is and is able to pursue decently well with a good motor.

He is very technical with his hands. Williams has strong hands that pack a punch. He can jolt offensive linemen backwards because of the strength of his hands, but also the timing and placement. Williams keeps his hands inside and has good timing, which helps him shed blocks well.

Tyleik Williams Weaknesses

While he has good size, Williams has limited length. He uses his length well, but can struggle to shed when offensive linemen have longer arms than him. Williams is able to overcome this because of his strength and hand work. He will have to make sure that his hands and technique are great in order to win often in the NFL.

Williams is more of a two-down player for the next level and doesn’t offer much for passing situations. He can push the pocket, but needs to add more pass rush moves and counters. Teams are likely better off taking him off the field on passing downs, which limits his value.

Where Williams will play and fit on an NFL defensive line is up in the air. He has played multiple positions and had different roles in college, which is a byproduct of him playing at different weights. Williams will need to find his optimal weight and his position will likely be a product of that.

Projected Draft Range: Second Round Pick-Third Round Pick

Draft Grade: Second Round Pick
