The 2025 NFL Draft will be a great event for teams to start building for their future. Here is the Tate Ratledge NFL Draft Profile.
Position: Interior Offensive Lineman
School: Georgia
Size: 6-foot-6, 308 pounds
Class: Senior
2024 stats: Third Team All-American
Ratledge was a four-star recruit in the class of 2020 who decided to stay in his home state to play for Georgia. He didn’t play much in his first two seasons with the team, but started for the 2022 season. He helped the team win the national championship that season. In 2023, he was a Second-Team All-American and aided the team in winning 13 games. For the 2024 season, he battled injuries but was named a Third Team All-American. Georgia won 11 games this past season.
Following the College Football Playoff, Ratledge has been preparing for the 2025 NFL Draft. He is a projected day-two pick.
Ratledge is a good athlete for the position, which showed up on tape and at the NFL Combine. He gets a quick start to the play at the snap of the ball, which sets him up for success on a lot of reps. Ratledge can get to the second level on run plays and also is good when he is in space on the perimeter. He also uses his mobility well in pass protection.
His pass protection is impressive, specifically for an interior lineman. He mirrors pass rushers well, staying in front of defenders. Ratledge also has good recovery speed, so defenders can’t always change directions on him. He anchors well too, which limits the effectiveness of power rushers.
He has the demeanor that NFL teams will be looking for. Ratledge finishes his blocks, leaving no doubt that he did his job well. He will take defenders to the ground in the run game. Ratledge is always looking for work, whether he finishes his block in the run game or if no one comes his way in pass protection.
Ratledge has good strength, but he has room to fill out his frame even more. He stands at 6-foot-6 and 308 pounds, which is a solid frame, but it looks like he can add more weight to his frame to make him even stronger. To go along with his frame, Ratleddge has arms that measure close to 32-inches, which is small for an NFL offensive lineman.
While he can mirror pass rushers well, there are times he can struggle with more athletic pass rushers. Pass rushers that are quicker and more flexible can get an advantage on him with their first step and then take advantage of his relative lack of flexibility. Trusting his technique will help him.
He can lean in pass protection, which sometimes gets him off-balance. Ratledge can also lunge at times showing his eagerness to make a block. He needs to stay true to his base so that defenders can’t take advantage of him getting off-balance.
Projected Draft Range: Second Round Pick-Third Round Pick
Draft Grade: Third Round Pick
